Established in January 1985 in the bustling industrial hub of Andheri East, Mumbai, Raj Electricals was founded by the visionary Mr. Siraj S. Khunt. What began as a modest operation with just a handful of dedicated individuals quickly transformed into a story of innovation, resilience, and evolution. Initially focused on electrical panel fabrication and motor repairs, the company earned a reputation for quality craftsmanship and dependable service. Our very name—Raj Electricals—pays homage to these foundational roots.
In the years that followed, our expertise in electrical panels attracted increasing orders from prominent manufacturers of rotogravure printing and slitting rewinding machines. Recognizing the immense potential within this space, we strategically diversified our capabilities in the 1990s and began manufacturing these machines ourselves. To further streamline and scale this specialized vertical, we established a dedicated sister concern—Tri Ace Machines Pvt. Ltd.—which exclusively focused on this product line.
The year 2009 marked a turning point. A single enquiry for a shredder machine opened the door to a completely new realm of possibilities. We took on the challenge and successfully built our first shredder—ushering Raj Electricals into the waste management machinery sector. As we deepened our involvement, we noticed that certain materials—like plastic bottles and other low-density items—posed unique challenges during shredding. This insight led to the development and introduction of granulators and grinders in late 2013, further broadening our technical horizon.
In late 2016, we turned our attention to sustainability. We launched our proprietary cardboard perforator, a unique machine that didn’t destroy but innovatively restructured cardboard—transforming it into flexible, mat-like sheets ideal for eco-conscious packaging applications.
During this same period, we embarked on developing a pioneering solution to separate dry products—such as spices and pesticides—from their laminated packaging. This practical advancement proved especially valuable for industries handling expired, returned, or rejected pouch products. But our curiosity and commitment to innovation didn’t stop there. The success of this technology prompted a bigger question: If we could separate dry contents, could we also do so with wet or sticky substances?
This question birthed one of our most significant milestones—a patented shredder cum separator designed to process sticky and viscous products like shampoo and liquid pouches. Launched in early 2017, this first-of-its-kind machine could isolate the contents from their laminate covers with precision, revolutionizing waste recovery in the FMCG and expiration goods industry.
Building on this momentum, we recently achieved another breakthrough. As of July 2025, Raj Electricals has developed a new solution that enables the recovery of valuable materials from expired or rejected laminated tubes (lami-tubes). This next-generation machine represents our unwavering focus on sustainable innovation and material reclamation.
Today, as we continue to advance in the realm of industrial waste recovery and environmental sustainability, we are embracing a new identity—ShredMaxx. This name reflects the nature and ambition of our present and future. However, our soul remains unchanged. We may rebrand for clarity and purpose, but we will always be Raj Electricals at heart—grounded in decades of trust, built on a legacy of innovation, and committed to driving progress for industries and the planet alike.
